So many amazing and beautiful things around me to inspire me.
I have finally started work on my indigo print. I have started constructing all the parts that will make the final print. These are my mock ups. It will change a lot along the way.
By pure fluke happened to see the "make lace not war" exhibition at the powerhouse museum.
It is fantastic , you have to go if you get the chance. The works were made in paper, metal, fabrics, ceramics, found objects and so on. Very innovative works. A must see.
During my research for the upcoming "indigo" exhibition came across this amazing cartography. I'm in love. Check out in google - Catalan atlas by Cresques Abraham. Such beautiful and vivid work.
My studio space bursting at the seems and needing some time invested on sorting through the projects that are completed and those that are still in the exploration phase. I like to have a few projects on the go. Hence why I have soooo much stuff around. It would be great to work in a linear way that would allow me to pack away completed projects and throw away all the trial efforts that never worked.
Also like to have some inspiration to hand so I have a collection wall for images I love.
Since last weekends shibori workshop and this Fridays meeting to discuss the upcoming indigo exhibition with the printmakers I have indigo and shibori on my mind. I have grow to love the deep blue of indigo and have dyed some cane hoping to create a wonderful shibori inspired basket. It will appear on this blog .... One day...............
Banana flower (drying) from my recent banana harvest and an amazing birds wing that I discovered from the vantage point of the tractor whilst slashing the paddocks. They will be the inspiration behind an art work soon. I do love where I live for the bounty that continues to flow and inspire me.
Working on logos for a new venture. Very exciting times coming! Will be released in the next 2 weeks.
Drawing a jumble of wire and then painting to make vibrant shapes and colours. Workshop done with children at kariongs art barn.
