This project was part of Gosford City Councils festivals to rejuvenate Gosford CBD and Kibble Park. The idea was Gabe Somers from Somers Salt Gallery in Gosford's brainchild, and I was the support artist on the project. It was to create objects as part of an installation that could serve many purposes. The crates were all reused for this project, the festival was supporting the Mariners games at Blue Tongue Stadium and were "sports" and "team" themed. They were flexible objects that allowed for tables and seating by adults or used to build platforms or forts by children. It was fabulous to watch the crates being moved around and used as practical items and also being built into other things by other people. Teenagers created a giant sofa for a group of them to share, one family created a fort for a group of children, other children created their own game of musical chairs. People were constantly moving them around the area, forming groups or lines, it was like a colourful ebb and flow of colourful objects on a canvas as they were interacted with and built up and pulled down.
